Red Hot Sun

  1. Take a file of 800 by 800 pixels (width-800 & height-800), resolution 72, mode RGB color with white background.We will initially make it large, then scale it down. It looks better that way.
  2. Create a new layer by Ctrl + Shift + N (shortcut command) or by as shown in (Fig.1).

  3. Using the Elliptical Marquee Tool (Fig.2), and while holding down shift, create a circle selection. Make the selection almost as big as your canvas (Fig.3).

  4. Click D on the keyboard as to make fore-ground color black & back-ground color white as shown in (Fig.4).

  5. Now fill the selection with black color by Alt + Delete (shortcut command), you will get result as shown in (Fig.5).

  6. Now go to Filter-Render-Difference Clouds (Fig.6) and apply Ctrl + F command twice (Fig.7).

  7. For seventh step go to Image-Adjustments-Levels (Fig.8), or simply press Ctrl + L (shortcut command) for Levels and use details as shown in (Fig.9) and you will get the result as shown in (Fig.10).

  8. Now go to Filter-Sharpen-Unsharp Mask (Fig.11) and apply the details as follows :- Amount:500% ; Radius:3.0 pixels ; Threshold:15 levels, you will get the result as shown in (Fig.12).

  9. Now go to Filter-Distort-Spherize with details as follows :- Amount:100% and you will get the result as shown in (Fig.13).

  10. Then again apply the same filter go to Filter-Distort-Spherize but this time detail will change as follows :- Amount:50% and you will get the result as shown in (Fig.14).

  11. Now the time to add color, go to Image-Adjustments-Color Balance & apply the following color balance :- Shadows: +100 | 0 | -100  ;  Midtones: +100 | 0 | -100  ;  Highlights: +70 | 0 | -15  ;  and you will get the result as shown in (Fig.15).

  12. Now we have to sharpen the image again, go to Filter-Sharpen-Unsharp Mask (Fig.11) and apply the details as follows :- Amount:300% ; Radius:3.0 pixels ; Threshold:15 levels, you will get your desired result as shown in (Fig.16).

  13. Now press Ctrl + D to deselect the selection.......  :-)
