- Define the term Layer. Also mention few lines about its usage in Photoshop.
- Layers can be defined as transparent sheets of pixels that can be edited independently, without affecting the other parts of the image. Layers are useful in adding a high degree of flexibility to Photoshop documents. They allow the users to keep various elements of an image separate so that when these particular elements are changed, the underlying or the surrounding pixels remain unchanged.
- What do you mean by the term "Flat Image" and is there any advantage of creating a Flat Image ?
- When all the layers in an image are merged into one layer, such an image is known as Flat Image. When the layers in an image are flattened, all of them are treated as one layer. Flattening an image reduces the file size, due to single background layer only.
- What is Linking Layer ?
- Linking Layer is defined as making a chain of layers. Working with multiple layers is easier now because you can select multiple layers in the Layer Palette at once. We can link layers when we want to move more than one layer without affecting the distance between them.
- What is purpose of Adjustment Layer ?
- The Adjustment Layer let us control the appearance of an image. They make objects appear larger or smaller or of a different style without changing their appearance. We can get an idea of how an image will appear, if we make some changes to it without actually changing the image. An Adjustment Layer is similar to a lens placed on the pixels to obtain an enlarged, diminished or stylized view of images.
